“Your First Sock” Workshop (Fall 2007)
Socks are a great way to take your knitting to the next level! They are portable, quick, have great variety and make wonderful gifts. Spend a Saturday getting in touch with your inner knitter. We supply the pattern for a top-down sock with a classic turned heel, in a child’s size so that it’s possible to complete it during the workshop. You’ll go home knowing many basic principles of sock-making, ready to explore the wonderful world of socks!
Skill Level/Prerequisites: Advanced beginner to intermediate; should know how to cast on, knit and purl.
Materials: one skein (200 yds) of washable worsted yarn , 1 set (5) of bamboo double pointed needles, size 6, and 1 large tapestry needle.
Dates: October 20, November 10, December 8
Time: 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (bring your lunch or plan to get a take out lunch from a local restaurant)
